Six years after the 9/11 attacks, and more questions remain unanswered than answered. The people responsible remain at large, and depending on your opinion, they are either in Pakistan or in Washington D.C. The public trust of White House has largely been eroded, their competence and ability to lead the country past 9/11 is still very much in doubt, as is their willingness to do so. As is their resolve to capture those responsible and bring them to justice. In fact, the very notion of justice as it exists in this country is more in doubt today than at any point in the six years following the attacks.

That opportunity is THE2NDHAND, a literary broadsheet that Dills started in Chicago after moving there and finding a furtive writing scene in need of a common means of expression. Now that means of expression is available to Birmingham writers as well as writers from Chicago and other cities.
As Dills tells it, THE2NDHAND was born from a marriage of time and place: it occurred as a by-product of being a writer in an active writing scene and pursuing an M.F.A. in creative writing.
