Grey Matter hail from Orlando, Florida, and recently came to Bottletree on the Solillaquists of Sound tour. They tore up the stage. Illustrate, the lone M.C. that night, ripped off rhymes showcasing an amazing inner strength and emotional clarity. Grey Matter, the hip-hop group composed of Illustrate, Tempermental (absent that night) and J Storm, escorted the crowd through raucous cheers and stunned silence with the power and insight of their songs. We recently got to interview Illustrate, the voice of Grey Matter, about their direction and what hip-hop means to him.
